Here's the story. I was driving down Monterey Highway when I spotted a hawk on a power line. I pulled over as best I could and tried to figure out how to get "sun-side" of it. I tip-towed into a field, all the while looking back at the bird, when suddenly I saw this other bird about 10 feet away, calm as could be. Oh my god! Guess what, my camera had not flash card! I about died. I retured a few minutes later, but it was gone...but I soon found it on a nearby tree. I got withing 20 feet before it spooked. The shot would have been even sharper if my hands hadn't been shaking so much. 24 December, 2004.
